◾Public sector bank Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has hiked interest rates on fixed deposits below Rs 2 crore. The new rates will be effective from September 13, 2022. Interest rate has been raised for all tenures. 3.25% to 5.85% interest is paid on fixed deposits with tenors ranging from 7 days to 3 years or more. Meanwhile, the interest rate on fixed deposits maturing within 30 to 45 days has been increased by 35 bps from 3.00. The bank has increased the interest rate on fixed deposits with tenure of 1 year to 2 years from 5.45% to 5.60%. Fixed deposits with tenors of 2 years to less than 3 years (excluding 1000 days) will now fetch 5.60% interest and fixed deposits with tenors of three years and above will now fetch 5.85% interest, as against 5.70% earlier.
